Rivet Busters
Rivet busters are were originally designed as powerful, purpose-built impact tools for removing rivets, studs, bolts, and headed fasteners quickly and safely from steelwork, ship hulls, bridges, boilers, tanks, and heavy machinery. Since then, they have been adapted to be used as light weight and powerful demolition tools that are a little bit heavier than a chipping hammer but are almost as powerful as paving breakers and jack hammers. A wide variety of chisels are available in different lengths and head types for these light and versatile tools. If you are unsure of the right tool for breaking concrete, click here.
Choose tools that match the fastener size and access constraints: higher-impact models with longer strokes and slower blow rates are best for large structural rivets or larger demolition jobs, while lighter, shorter stroker with higher-BPM units excel at smaller fasteners, thinner concrete and confined spaces. Compare specs such as stroke length, blows per minute, air pressure requirements, and weight.
