Man Cooler
A man cooler is a portable industrial fan built to move enough air to keep people and machinery working in plant heat. Texas Pneumatic runs four wheel sizes — 18 in., 24 in., 36 in. and 48 in. — with steel blades in a steel housing, adjustable tilt for directional airflow, multiple speed settings, a guard over the wheel, and swivel and fixed casters on the base so one person can move it across the floor. Motors are explosion proof or totally enclosed fan cooled, on 115V or 220V, with the 48 in. running 220V three phase. An optional high stand lifts the fan to aim air where the work is. Explosion Proof or Totally Enclosed
A totally enclosed fan cooled motor seals the windings against dust and moisture and covers most shop, warehouse and garage duty. An explosion-proof motor is what you specify for refineries, tank farms, paint areas and any classified atmosphere where a standard shop fan is not allowed. Both motor types are offered on the 18 and 24 in. wheels; the 36 in. is listed totally enclosed and the 48 in. explosion proof. Check the configuration list on each product page before you order.
Sizing and Stands
Wheel diameter sets throw and volume. An 18 or 24 in. fan works a bench, a bay or a single machine; 36 in. covers a shop aisle; the 48 in. moves air across an open plant floor and takes three-phase power to do it. Every unit rides on heavy-duty swivel and fixed casters. The optional high stand puts the same fan up off the floor on those same casters, which is what most people are after when they ask for a pedestal man cooler fan.
Cooling Is Not Ventilation
