Carrier Mounted Breakers
A carrier mounted breaker hangs off the boom and turns the machine’s hydraulics into steady percussion, so one operator breaks all day instead of a crew swinging handhelds. Crowder is a stocking Epiroc dealer, and the line here runs three families: the SB series, the SBU series — the SBU 220 and SBU 340 are the models people search for by name — and the EC series up to the EC 80T. Each is matched to a carrier by operating weight and auxiliary flow, then fitted with the moil point, chisel or driver pad the job calls for. Keep a spare 24 in. Brunner & Lay conical point on the truck — it ships free UPS Ground. Paste, hoses and charging gear sit in breaker parts, and the wider excavator attachments range covers what else mounts to a carrier.

The SB and SBU Series
The SB line starts at the SB 52 and works up through the SB 102, SB 152, SB 202, SB 302, and SB 452, with the SBU 340 alongside the SBU 220. Model numbers climb with breaker size, so the small end goes on light carriers and the SB 452 on a full-size machine. Ask us to confirm the match before you order.
The EC Series
EC breakers cover the same idea in a different frame: EC 40T, EC 50T, EC 60T, EC 70T, and the EC 80T. EC breakers take the same moil points, chisels, blunt tools, cutters, and pads as the SB and SBU machines, so a mixed fleet runs one tool inventory instead of three.
Sizing, Pricing and Ordering
Breakers are not shelf goods. Each one is quoted to your machine, because the bracket, hose kit, and tool set change with the carrier. Have the make, model, operating weight, and auxiliary hydraulic flow when you call the number at the top of the page, and say whether the work is trenching, secondary breaking, or structural demolition — that decides the tool set as much as the breaker.
Common Questions
How much does an Epiroc breaker cost? There is no single list price. The breaker, mounting bracket, hose kit, and working tools are quoted together against your carrier, so pricing comes back per configuration. Call with the machine details and we will put a number on it.
Which breaker fits a 5-ton excavator? Small-frame models — the low end of the SB line or an EC breaker — but the auxiliary flow decides it as much as the tonnage. Send us both figures rather than matching on weight alone.
What tools fit these breakers? All of them take the Epiroc working tool range, listed by machine type: moil points, cross and XProfile chisels, wide chisels, asphalt cutters, blunt tools, and tamper, post, and pile driver pads.
