The Epiroc SB 552 T is the tunnel version of the SB 552 Solid Body hydraulic breaker, built for scaling, wall and roof profiling and other underground work on 19,800–33,000 lb (9–15 t) carriers. Service weight is 1,230 lb (557 kg) with a 3.94 in. (100 mm) working tool and 19 in. (485 mm) working length. Exchangeable restrictors match the breaker to the job: 650–1,150 bpm tunneling, 900–1,000 bpm scaling; operating pressure 1,450–2,175 psi (100–150 bar) tunneling, 1,450–1,595 psi (100–110 bar) scaling; oil flow 17.2–30.4 gpm (65–115 l/min) tunneling, 22.5–30.4 gpm (85–115 l/min) scaling; max hydraulic input 38.9 HP (29 kW) tunneling, 28.2 HP (21 kW) scaling.

Tunnel-specific details include a press-fit bushing locked by an extra pin to limit bore wear, an exchangeable wear plate, integrated nozzles for water spraying, and a special working tool with front shield and dust cover to limit dust intake. The Solid Body concept integrates the power cell and breaker box in one body and eliminates common parts for a slim, compact, lightweight design, energy recovery feeds piston recoil back into the blow, and the maintenance-free high-pressure accumulator and integrated pressure relief valve protect the breaker from overloads.
