Air Ducting
Ducting is what turns a blower parked at the manway into ventilation at the work face. Texas Pneumatic air ducting comes in 8, 12 and 16 in. diameters in 30 ft lengths, built from single-ply PVC-coated polyester fabric over a spring steel wire helix with an external PVC wear strip, and it works on either end of a fan for supply or suction. Each length carries its own storage bag sewn to the cuff, and one hose pushes into the cuff of the next for long runs with no connectors. Hang it off a Tornado blower, a 12 in. jet fan or a venturi air mover, and add the TXSG swing gate where a fan is bolted to a tank flange. Ships from Denver.

How the Duct Is Built
Single-ply PVC-coated polyester keeps the run light enough to drag through a manway, the spring steel wire helix holds the bore open under suction instead of collapsing, and the external PVC wear strip takes the abrasion of grating, deck plate and rock. All three sizes run 30 ft per length.
Joining, Deploying and Storing Runs
The storage bag is sewn to the cuff end. Clamp the cuff to the fan, walk the far end out of the bag, and feed it back in at the end of the shift. To extend, insert the end of one hose into the cuff of the next — no couplers to lose. Match diameter to the fan outlet, not to the space.
The TXSG Swing Gate
Bolt a fan straight to a tank flange and you have blocked your own entry point. The swing gate keeps it usable: the fan mounts to a heat-treated T6 aircraft aluminum plate held shut by a magnet, with no latch, so a worker inside pushes the molded hand paddle and one outside pulls the flange to swing the fan clear. Exposed parts are stainless or aluminum, with a stainless shackle for lifting and stainless 1 in. hardware included.

How is a blower attached to a duct? The cuff end slips over the fan outlet or inlet adapter and clamps down. The hose works for supply or exhaust, so mount it on either end — blow fresh air in from a clean-air position or pull contaminated air out.
What size confined space ventilation ducting do I need? Match the duct to the fan — 8, 12 and 16 in. line up with common blower and cooling fan outlets. Undersizing throttles the fan and costs air changes at the face.
