Chargers & Batteries

Cordless CP tools run on separate battery platforms, and a pack only works with the charger built for its voltage — get that pairing wrong and nothing on the bench charges. The packs cover 14.4 V at 2.0 Ah, 18 V and 36 V at 2.5 Ah, and a 20 V pack in 4.0 or 6.0 Ah, all Li-ion with individual cell protection. Chargers follow the same split: the CP12CH for 12 V, the CP14.4CH in a North American plug, the CP20CH for 20 V, and the CP18-36CH, which takes both 18 and 36 V packs and refills one in 45 minutes. Check the voltage on the tool first, then browse cordless and electric tools and the CP cordless line. Ships from Denver.

Match the Pack to the Platform

Voltage decides compatibility; amp-hours decide runtime. A 20 V tool will not run on an 18 V pack, and neither seats in the other’s charger. Read the platform off the tool first.

Chargers, Plugs and Charge Time

The CP18-36CH charges an 18 or 36 V pack in 45 minutes, meets IEC 62841, sits on a bench or bolts to a wall, and takes one supply cable across several chargers on a rack, with the charge level shown on the pack. Plug region varies by reference: the CP12CH exists in EU, US, AUS and KC plugs, the CP20CH in EU, US and KC, and there is a separate AUS charger listing. Confirm the plug before ordering for a North American shop.

Runtime and Warranty

Amp-hours are the fuel tank: a 6.0 Ah 20 V pack runs roughly half again as long as a 4.0 Ah on the same tool, at more weight in the hand. On impact work, high-drain cells matter more than capacity. CP warrants its cordless line one year on the tool and two years on the battery.

Common Questions

Will an 18 V CP battery fit a 36 V tool? No. The platforms are separate and the packs do not interchange. The CP18-36CH charger is the one part that spans both, but that does not make the packs interchangeable in a tool.

How long does a CP battery take to charge? CP rates the CP18-36CH at 45 minutes for a full pack. Other chargers in the range vary; the CP14.4CH runs on 100-240 V input at 60 W and outputs 10.8-14.4 V DC at 3 A.
