Electric Hammer Tools

Corded rotary and demolition hammers do their work through the bit, and the full working end for them is here in SDS+, SDS-Max, spline, and 3/4 in. hex shanks. Carbide hammer bits drill anchor and pass-through holes from 5/32 to 1-1/2 in. diameter and as deep as 60 in.; pyramid point multiple-cutter bits hold size in rebar-heavy concrete; hammer core bits open 1-3/4 to 5 in. holes; and chisels, an SDS-Max clay spade, and a bushing tool turn the same hammer into a breaking and digging tool. Brazed carbide hole saws cut metal, thin gauge, tile, stucco, wood, and fiberglass, and a Quik-Lok adapter bridges spline or SDS-Max hammers to SDS+ bits. Running air instead? Match the Shank to the Hammer

Four systems run this category and they do not interchange. SDS+ suits light rotary hammers and bits to 1 in.; SDS-Max and spline carry the big bits, chisels, and core work; 3/4 in. hex fits older hammers, taking the cold and scaling chisels. When tool and bit do not match, the Quik-Lok adapter converts spline or SDS-Max to SDS+, and the SDS retro fit bit handles straight shanks.

Hammer Bit Sizes

Single cutter bits drill fast in clean concrete; pyramid point bits stay round and survive rebar strikes.

Masonry bits, screw anchor bits, and hole saws are above too.

Breaking, Cutting, and Hole Saws

The moil point chisel comes 12 and 18 in. in all three shanks, with scaling chisels, a bushing tool, and an SDS-Max or spline ground rod driver behind it. A rebar cutter drills 3/8 to 2 in. through embedded steel, and brazed carbide hole saws ship complete or head-only, 3/16 to 4 in.

Common Questions

What is a pyramid point bit? A multiple-cutter hammer bit with a pyramid carbide head instead of one edge. The extra edges keep the hole round and take rebar contact better than a single cutter.

Will spline bits fit an SDS-Max hammer? No. Spline, SDS-Max, and SDS+ are separate shank systems. Run the bit made for your chuck, or use the Quik-Lok adapter to put SDS+ bits in either.

Do you have spades for electric hammers? Yes — an SDS-Max clay spade, 4-1/2 x 5-1/2 x 15-1/2 in. Breaker-shank spades sit on the blade tools page.

How fast can you ship? Crowder Supply ships from Denver, and in-stock items ordered by 4 PM Eastern go out the same day. Stock moves, so call or email if you need a firm ship date on a specific electric hammer tools before you order.
