The APT 131 Back fill Tamper is used for soil compaction, temporary filling of holes, asphalt packing etc. Applications range from foundation and pavement repair to the installation of power or telephone poles. APT Tampers come with a choice of 3 styles of butts, a 6″ diameter (approx. 5 lbs), 3″ round butt (approx. 5 lbs) and a pole butt (approx. 5 lbs). The half-moon shaped pole butt is for compaction around a pole and the 3″ diameter butt for confined space compaction.
