A Paving Breaker One-Piece Pin Driver is a forged, solid steel tool used with pneumatic paving breakers (6090 lb class) to drive pins, stakes, ground rods, or rebar into hard surfaces such as soil, asphalt, or concrete. The “one-piece” construction means the tool integrates both the shank and the driving head into a single forged body, maximizing strength and durability under repetitive impact loads.
Unlike general-purpose moil or chisel tools, a pin driver has a recessed or contoured end designed to fit over or align with the top of a pin, rod, or stake to drive it efficiently without bending or damaging it.
- Design:
- One-Piece Forged Body -Entire tool is hot-forged from a single billet of steel for structural integrity, no welds or joints that could fail under repeated impact
- Driving End (Pin Contact) -Flat or recessed tip to fit over pins, stakes, or rods (typically up to 1″ or 1-1/4″ diameter); may include a concave cup or guide shoulder to maintain alignment
- This design ensures maximum energy transfer from the hammer to the pin with minimal tool deformation.
- Applications: The one-piece pin driver is essential for:
- Construction and Fencing -Driving form pins, ground stakes, T-posts, and concrete form rods
- Utility and Electrical Work -Installing grounding rods or temporary stakes
- Road Work and Traffic Control -Securing signposts or temporary fencing pins into pavement or hard soil
- Tent and Event Setup -Driving large metal stakes or anchors into turf or gravel
- Railroad and Civil Engineering -Driving track spikes, survey pins, or soil anchors
- Materials:Main body is high-carbon alloy steel for excellent tensile strength and impact resistance. Heat-treated for wear resistance and tough core.
- Configuration: 7/8″ x 4-1/4″ Hex shank x 2-1/2″ length
