The DARDAC2S is the most compact model in the DARDA handheld splittingcylinder range, engineered for controlled hydraulic splitting of rock and concrete.
Design:
- Requires a drilled hole diameter of 3132mm and a minimum depth of 270mm (wedgeset N).
- Splitting force: theoretical 3,490kN (355tons); effective 1,913kN (195tons).
- Weight 17kg (3740lb) for the cylinder unit.
- System pressure up to ~50MPa (500bar) for the hydraulic circuit.
- The splitter incorporates a handle with controlvalve so the operator can determine the direction/course of the split ahead of operation.
Applications:The C2S model is particularly suited to tasks where access is tight, disturbance must be minimized and directional control is important.
- Precision splitting of rock or concrete in confined spaces (e.g., underground mining, tunnelling, shafts, basements)
- Controlled demolition of rock & concrete where vibration or shockwaves would be unacceptable (e.g., near occupied buildings, sensitive equipment, historic structures).
- Secondary splitting of naturalstone blocks (quarrying) where a large block needs to be separated along a predetermined line rather than blasted.
- Jobs requiring portable equipment: one person transportable, usable under water or in restricted access zones.
- Situations where drilling a small diameter hole (~3132mm) is feasible and preferred over large bore or blasting.
Essentially: if you need to split material quietly, precisely and with minimal collateral effect, the C2S is an ideal tool.
