The HCS8 C variant of the Darda CombiShears is a handheld hydraulic demolition tool designed for cutting, expanding and separating building materials. According to Dardas catalog: In the HCS8C version, the CombiShears is specially designed to expand and separate material. Radiators can be pushed out from the wall, door frames can be broken out, and split concrete pieces can be separated. In addition to steel reinforcements up to16mm (5/8), the HCS8C also cuts a wide variety of construction materials. It forms part of a modular tool system, where the same base tool body can be fitted with different insert sets (shear/expander, brickjaw, concretejaw, sickle blade).
Design:
- Modular insert system: The tool body accepts the Universal Shear & Expander Blade Set C insert, letting you adapt the machine quickly to different tasks. The inserts can be changed in just a few minutes.
- Hydraulic drive: The tool is hydraulically powered (maximum system pressure 50MPa / 500bar) when connected to a Darda hydraulic power pack.
- Shearing and expanding capability: For the C version, the specs list a cutting force of 267kN (~27.2t) and a separating (expanding) force of 70kN (~7t). The jaw opening (expanding width) is circa 250mm (~9.9) and the overall length is about 720mm (~28). Weight approx 15kg (~33lb).
- Compact, oneman operation: The tool is designed to be handled by one operator, even in tougher demolition or renovation environments, and features a control valve integrated in the body for safe opening/closing of jaws.
- Low emissions (dust, vibration, noise): Because of its hydraulic operation and jaws rather than percussive action, it is designed to produce less noise, vibration and dust making it suitable for indoor or sensitive environments.
Applications:The HCS8C (Universal Shear & Expander) insert set is suited to a wide range of demolition and deconstruction tasks, especially where shearing, separating or spreading action is required.
- Pushing or removing fixtures: e.g., removing radiators from walls, expansion or removal of door/windows frames. (As stated in the product description: Radiators can be pushed out from the wall, door frames can be broken out.)
- Separation of split concrete pieces: After presplitting concrete or breaking walls, the jaws can be used to spread apart sections to remove them.
- Cutting a wide variety of construction materials: The C version also cuts materials including steel reinforcement up to ~16mm, sheet metal profiles, wood, cables, pipes etc.
- Interior demolition: Because of lower vibration and dust, suitable for renovation of buildings where minimal disruption is desired (e.g., hospitals, occupied buildings).
- Multimaterial jobs: Ideal when the demolition task involves combination of materials (metal, wood, concrete) and you need versatility from one tool rather than multiple separate machines.
