Darda Hydraulic Power Pack

Wheeled and handle-barred for one-person moves, with a manifold block and pressure gage, oil level and temperature display, return-line filter, and a lockout against third-party start-up. The two-stage pump gives 1.3 GPM of fast low-pressure travel and 0.4 GPM at the full 7,250 psi (the D4 diesels push 1.4 GPM at high pressure for multi-tool work).

Which Darda power pack should I choose?

By site, not by spec: the BP3 gas (Honda engine, from $13,265) is the everyday surface pick; the EP3 110V electric runs indoors, at night, and in occupied buildings with no exhaust; the AP3 compressed-air pack belongs underground and in refineries where engines are unwelcome; and the D4 diesel — with optional electric start — is the quarry workhorse with a stronger 1.4 GPM high-pressure stage and a side mount for transporting splitters.

How many splitters can one pack run?

Every pack has a manifold for up to three tool connections — splitters, the HCS8 shear, or a mix. The D4 E stretches to five connections with the optional manifold and the S2–S5 hose sets. That is why adding a bare cylinder to an existing pack is the cheapest way to grow a splitting crew.

What pressure and flow do these packs deliver?

Two stages: about 1.3 GPM at low pressure to run wedges out fast, then 0.4 GPM at the working pressure of 7,250 psi (50 MPa) to make the split — the D4 diesels deliver 1.4 GPM at high pressure. An oil-level indicator with temperature display, a return-line filter, and a pressure gage on the manifold keep the system honest.

Do I need the BP3 high-altitude kit?

If you run the BP3 gas pack anywhere above roughly 5,000 ft, yes: the $152.98 carburetor kit keeps the Honda engine running right at elevation — the factory rates standard carburetion to about 5,000 ft (1,500 m). Electric, air, and diesel packs do not care about altitude the way a carbureted gas engine does.

Will a Darda power pack run other hydraulic tools?

It is purpose-built for the Darda system: 7,250 psi is far above the 1,500–2,500 psi that common hydraulic breakers and pumps expect, and the two-stage flow profile is tuned to splitter cylinders and the HCS8.
