Chicago Pneumatic Connectors (Page 12 of 13)
Couplings are where shop air leaks, drops pressure, and comes apart in your hand, so they get bought by profile rather than by price. Chicago Pneumatic Easy Flow couplings run in body series — 06S, 075A, 076E, 08S, 104E, 11S — each with matching nipples so plug and socket come from one family. Threaded versions cover 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4 in. in NPT, BSP, and BSPT, as with the EF-F08S in 1/2 in. NPT; hose-barb versions run 6, 8, 10, 13, and 16 mm, including the EF-H11S at 10 mm. Claw couplings, barbed hose adaptors, and ten-packs of common nipples round it out. CP rates the connector line at 140 to 230 psi. Feed them from hose, reels, and valves.
Match the Coupling Profile
A coupling only mates with a nipple of the same profile, so pick a series and stay in it. The letter after the prefix tells you the end: a thread in inches, or a hose barb in millimetres.
| Coupling | Series | Connection |
|---|---|---|
| EF-F06S | 06S | 1/4 in. NPT |
| EF-F075A | 075A | 1/2 in. BSPT |
| EF-F076E | 076E | 3/8 in. BSP |
| EF-F104E | 104E | 1/2 in. BSP |
| EF-F11S | 11S | 3/4 in. NPT |
Filter by thread size in the sidebar, and order the nipple in the coupling’s series.
Easy Flow, Quick-Release, and Claw
Easy Flow bodies use a push-and-bend connection that is simple to make and break under pressure, built to cut the restriction that costs you pressure at the tool. Quick-release couplings, sold singly and in ten-packs, are the everyday shop fitting. Claw couplings are short-bodied and shrug off shock, which is why they persist on utility air lines.
Nipples, Adaptors, and Hose Ends
Every coupling needs a nipple. The range carries F, M, and H nipples in the 06S, 076E, 08S, 104E, and 11S series, in 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 in. NPT and BSP and 8 to 16 mm barbs, some in sets of five and ten so a crew can re-end its whips in one order. The rest of the air system is on the CP accessories and parts page.
Common Questions
Will a CP coupling fit my existing air fittings? Only if the profile matches. Interchange is set by body shape, not thread size, so a 1/4 in. NPT coupling in one profile will not take a 1/4 in. nipple from another. Standardize the shop on one series.
What pressure are they rated for? CP rates the connector line at 140 to 230 psi maximum working pressure depending on model, above the 90 psi most air tools run at. Check the figure on the product page for the exact fitting.
NPT, BSP, or BSPT? NPT is the North American standard and matches nearly every US compressor, filter-regulator-lubricator, and tool port; BSP and BSPT turn up on imported machines. Read the suffix in the model name.
