Synthetic base oils deliver a high viscosity index, a high flash point and a pour point around 45 C, and the formulation resists oxidation, varnish and deposit formation for drain intervals of up to 8,000 hours in normal conditions per the manufacturer.

Vanair specifies Vanguard oil for its rotary screw systems, including underdeck compressor/generator packages like the Genair series, and it suits truck-mounted screw units such as the Viper D70. For environmentally sensitive work, the biodegradable Vanguard Green variant blends polyglycol and pentaerythritol ester base fluids.
