The Tamco/Toku THD1100N is a 9 lb class handheld pneumatic rock drill for light chipping, spot drilling and small-diameter anchor holes. Its 1-1/8 in. bore delivers 3,200 BPM through a right-hand-rotation 7/8 x 3-1/4 in. hex chuck, and at 11 lb and 16-1/2 in. long it is the truck-inventory detail tool at the lightest end of the pneumatic rock drills Crowder Supply stocks.

Because it draws only 28 CFM at 90 PSI, a small utility compressor that would starve a production drill runs the THD1100N without complaint. The chuck takes standard 7/8 x 3-1/4 in. hex shanked drill steel; crews who run 3/4 in. round-shank chipping steel instead can look at the Tamco/Toku CP-9A, and our article on choosing a rock drill sorts out the weight classes.

  • 3,200 BPM impact rate from a 1-1/8 in. bore pneumatic motor with right-hand rotation
  • 7/8 x 3-1/4 in. hex chuck accepts standard shanked drill steel
  • Air consumption 28 CFM at 90 PSI runs on small contractor compressors
  • 11 lb tool weight and 16-1/2 in. overall length for close control on detail work
  • Applications: light chipping, spot drilling, cleanup, rebar trimming and small anchor-bolt holes
  • Dry operation; built by Toku, a long-established Japanese pneumatic tool manufacturer
  • Stocked in Denver by Crowder Supply with free UPS Ground shipping

THD1100N FAQ

What size compressor runs the THD1100N?
Only 28 CFM at 90 PSI a small utility compressor that would starve a production drill runs this 9 lb class tool without complaint, and a 50 CFM unit gives comfortable headroom.

What drill steel does it take?
The right-hand-rotation chuck accepts standard 7/8 x 3-1/4 in. hex shanked drill steel, run dry.

Who makes the Tamco/Toku THD1100N?
It is built by Toku, a long-established Japanese pneumatic tool manufacturer; Tamco/Toku is the same tool under the North American branding.

Is a 9 lb class drill enough, or do I need a heavier sinker?
For light chipping, spot drilling and small anchor holes it is the easy-handling choice; deeper or larger-diameter holes call for a heavier class the rock drill buyer’s guide maps the classes to the work.
