The Chicago Pneumatic RDR 48M is a handheld hydraulic rock drill that uses oil power for both impact and rotation, drilling holes up to 2 in. diameter and roughly 20 ft deep with standard integral steel. Fed by a hydraulic power pack or a carrier’s auxiliary hydraulic circuit, it gives contractors and utilities efficient blast, anchor and rock-splitting holes without a large compressor on site.

The 48M runs 2,550 BPM and 400 RPM counterclockwise rotation on 5.5 GPM at 1,4502,030 PSI working pressure, weighs 53 lb, and carries a 7/8 x 4-1/4 in. chuck; a small compressor is still needed for hole flushing.
