LH 190 E & LH 230 E Breakers
The everyday jackhammers: 55 and 62 lb vibro-reduced breakers with damped chisel bushings running 1,400–2,100 BPM at 4.6–5 m/s² — trigger time a fixed-handle breaker cannot legally touch. The LH 230 E steps up to 5.3–7.9 GPM (20–30 lpm) and class C/D packs.
Choose it when: you break concrete, asphalt, and brickwork daily and operator vibration hours are a real constraint.

Choose it when: breaking is intermittent, the pack is small, and price matters more than vibration damping.

Choose it when: mainline pavement and demolition where a 60-lb-class blow is the job standard.

Choose it when: the material is the hardest on site and your pack (or Twin at 40 lpm) can feed it.

Hydraulic Breaker Questions
Is a hydraulic breaker the same as a jackhammer?
Functionally yes — the LH series are hand-held jackhammers powered by hydraulic oil instead of compressed air. Same steels, same technique, but quieter, smoother, and fed by a wheeled power pack you roll through a doorway instead of a towed compressor.
Are these excavator-mounted breakers?
No — every breaker on this page is hand-held. Atlas Copco’s boom-mounted breakers for excavators are a different product family we do not stock; if that is what you need, call and we will point you right.
Which LH breaker should I buy?
By duty: LH 180/220 for light, intermittent breaking; LH 190 E/230 E for daily concrete with low vibration; LH 270/280 E for 60-lb-class pavement work; LH 390/400 E for the hardest material. If vibration exposure hours matter, buy an E model — 4.6–5.4 m/s² against 15–20 for standard handles.
What powers a hand-held hydraulic breaker?
An LP power pack (5.3–10.6 GPM (20–40 lpm) at up to 2,500 psi (172 bar)) or a carrier’s auxiliary hydraulics. Match EHTMA class letters between tool and pack and the pairing is right.
What does HBP mean?
High Back Pressure — versions of the LH 220, 270, 390, and the E models tuned to tolerate up to 500 psi (35 bar) of return-line pressure, which is what skid steer and mini excavator auxiliary circuits typically produce. Running a standard breaker on a high-back-pressure circuit kills performance; the HBP variant is the fix.
What steel do LH breakers take?
Hex shanks: 1 x 4-1/4 in. on the light end, 1-1/8 and 1-1/4 in. x 6 to 6-1/4 in. up the range (metric 25/28/32mm sizes) — each PDP lists its shank options, and we stock moil points, narrow chisels, wide chisels, and asphalt cutters to match.
Can these work underwater or indoors?
Yes — no exhaust at the tool, no air line, low noise. Underwater breaking, night permits, and occupied-building interior demolition are the classic hydraulic use cases.
What is the LH 190 E Tie Tamper?
The LH 190 E platform fitted for railroad tie tamping at $850 — rail crews running hydraulic tools tamp ballast with it instead of carrying a separate gas machine. The gas alternative is the Cobra TT.
