What is a rivet buster used for?
A rivet buster is a long-stroke pneumatic tool that sits between a chipping hammer and a paving breaker. It was named for shearing rivet heads off steel structures, and it is still used for that — but most work today is bridge deck repair, parking garage demolition, tank ripping and vertical or overhead concrete removal where a paving breaker is too heavy to hold up.
RB-91HP or RB-110 — which one?
Stroke length is the difference. The RB-91HP has an 8-15/16 in. stroke in a 32 lb tool, which makes it easier to hold vertical and overhead all day. The RB-110’s 11-15/16 in. stroke puts noticeably more energy behind each blow for heavy deck and garage work, at 35 lb.
D-handle or pistol grip?
Operator preference — both cost the same. The D-handle gives a two-hand grip with more control on horizontal work; the pistol grip is easier to manage in confined positions and overhead. Pick the handle style in the buy box on each model.
What steel fits these?
