The Epiroc MG 400 is a hydraulic multi grapple for 8,800–17,600 lb (4–8 t) excavators, built for loading and sorting material and for demolishing wooden and masonry structures – static (non-rotating) version.
Service weight 980 lb (445 kg) with an average-sized adapter plate; product weight 825 lb (375 kg). Max. closing force 2.5 US tons (2.3 t). Jaw opening 58.3 in. (1,480 mm), grapple width 23.7 in. (603 mm), loading volume 0.27 cu yd (0.21 m³). Oil flow 10.6 gpm (40 l/min) at up to 4,350 psi (300 bar). This is the static (non-rotating) version; Epiroc’s multi grapples can be converted between rotating and non-rotating.
Epiroc multi grapples load and sort material and take down wooden and masonry structures with a steady grip and virtually constant closing force. An integrated mechanical stop takes load off the cylinders, the solid perforated shells keep the load in view, and the cutting blades are replaceable and reversible. Optional tooth blades (MG 400–2300) suit block and stone handling, and optional bolt-on side plates (MG 400–1500) hold fine-grained material and debris.
