Texas Pneumatic Air Misters

Air misters cool a hot work area by combining compressed air and water into an atomized mist, then throwing that fog downrange on the induced airflow of a venturi air mover. In dry heat the evaporating droplets pull temperature out of the surrounding air, which is why crews run misters on turnarounds, shutdowns and outages, in fab shops and warehouses, and over outdoor events. Texas Pneumatic builds them in three horn diameters — the 3 in. for one station, the 6 in. with a metal or polyurethane horn, and the 8 in. in metal only — each on a portable stand, without a stand, or bolted to a permanent fixture. Feed one from an air compressor and a water line, or see the whole Texas Pneumatic mister line. Ships from Denver.

Evaporative Cooling With Nothing to Break

There are no moving parts in the mist head. Compressed air and water meet at the nozzle, leave as fine droplets, and the air mover’s horn carries them out over the crew. Evaporation does the cooling, so the effect is strongest in dry, hot air and fades as humidity climbs. Nozzles and air and water fittings are brass or stainless steel; frames and stands are powder-coated steel, with stainless offered where corrosion is a problem.

Picking a Horn Diameter

Horn size sets how much ambient air the unit induces and how far the mist carries. A 3 in. head suits a single welding or grinding station or an equipment cab. The 6 in. is the general shop and jobsite size and the only one offered with a polyurethane horn. The 8 in. covers the widest ground — a tent, a bay, an open lay-down yard. For high-volume airflow with no water at all, an electric man cooler moves more air from the same footprint.

Curing, Dust and Confined Spaces

Cooling is not the only use. Misters hold humidity in the air during concrete curing, and they knock airborne dust down in mining and tunneling, shipyard tanks, and oil and gas facilities. Mist is not a substitute for capturing respirable silica at the tool, though — for that, use a dust collection system at the point of work.

Common Questions

What is an air mister? It is a venturi air mover with a misting head: compressed air pulls a large volume of ambient air through the horn while a nozzle atomizes water into that stream. The result is a cooling fog you can aim. Browse the full air movement & storage range for related fans and blowers.

Does a commercial misting system work in humid weather? Evaporative cooling depends on dry air. In dry heat the mist flashes off and the temperature drops; in high humidity you mostly get wetting. Where the air is already damp, move volume instead with a jet fan or a Tornado blower.

How much air does an industrial mister need? It runs off the same jobsite or shop air as the rest of your pneumatic gear, and horn diameter drives the demand — check the individual model page, then size the compressor to it.

Do you sell misting fans in Denver? Crowder Supply is in Denver, Colorado and ships nationwide. In-stock parts ordered by 4 PM ET ship the same day; call for lead time on a complete mister with stand.
