A hydraulic rock splitter cracks rock and concrete with no noise, no fly rock, and no vibration — and it does it with three wear parts: a central wedge driven between two counter wedges. Those wedges, plus the hose, couplings, lubricant, and oil that feed the cylinder, are what you reorder. Wedge Sets Are the Wear Part
Splitting force comes from a central wedge hydraulically driven between two counter wedges seated in a drilled hole — on the Tehma SP600 that hole is 45–48 mm. The counter wedges take the abrasion, so they sell in pairs. Keep the contact faces greased with Darda special lubricant or Tehma grease, both 1 kg; dry faces waste force and accelerate wear.

Hose, Couplings, Oil, and Blades
Darda tools run a twin-line S1 circuit — a 10 m S1 hose plus matched high- and low-pressure quick coupling sets. Tehma hose is rated 700 bar (10,152 psi) in 5 m and 10 m and couples in series for depth. At the jaw, Tehma combi shear blades interchange with crusher and metal shear jaws to spread material or cut rebar. Where no tool fits, Betonamit expansive agent breaks rock without blasting.
Common Questions
When does a hydraulic rock splitter wedge need replacing? Wedges are consumables. Galling, rounding, or seizing on the contact faces means the set has lost geometry and is costing you splitting force. Replace central and counter wedges as a set and keep them greased.
What oil does a Tehma splitter take? AW46 hydraulic oil. The zinc-free 5 gallon AW46 above is specified to meet the requirements of Tehma hydraulic tools and power packs.
Which crusher hose do I need? Match the system, not the tool: Darda runs twin-line S1 hose with paired pressure and return couplings; Tehma runs 700 bar hose in 5 m or 10 m. Tools are listed under concrete crushers & metal shears.
