The Chicago Pneumatic CP 0077 is an air-powered sludge pump for moving liquids that carry rock fragments, drill cuttings, sand and heavy sludge out of trenches, shafts, manholes, industrial sumps and excavations. It works on the venturi-ejector principle: compressed air forced through a restriction in the pump head draws liquid into the chamber through an inlet valve, then pressurizes the chamber and pushes the contents out the discharge port. There is no motor, impeller or diaphragm to wear out, so the pump is not damaged by running without load and shrugs off abrasive solids that would destroy a conventional pump.
- Handles liquids with up to 15 percent solids and particles up to 1 in.; suitable for sea water and many corrosive process liquids (not for flammable liquids)

Sludge pump or sump pump?
Choose the CP 0077 when the liquid is dirty enough to clog or wear an impeller, when you need to pump from above the liquid, or when you are moving sea water or corrosive liquids. For clean or lightly silted water where a compact submersible is easier to handle, the Chicago Pneumatic CP 0010 and CP 0020 pneumatic sump pumps are the lighter choice.
Auxiliary fittings
Chicago Pneumatic lists a 3 in. unthreaded x 2-1/2 in. BSP inlet hose nipple (F027762) and 2-1/2 in. NPT outlet nipples (R146385 straight, R146383 street elbow) for the CP 0077. Contact Crowder Supply if you need these supplied with the pump.
