The Mincon MP50 covers the 5 to 6 in. hole sizes that dominate water-well, quarry blast-hole and construction drilling. The MP50-QL variant runs QL50 shank bits with a foot valve; the MQ50 deletes the foot valve to run tubeless drill bits. Both share a 4.6 in. outside diameter, 122 lb tool weight, 28 lb piston and API backhead thread, machined and heat treated in Mincon’s Irish and Finnish plants.
A mid-size DTH hammer earns its keep on air efficiency, and the MP-series cycle is designed to use available air for penetration instead of demanding a bigger compressor. The closely related MP56-QL hammer runs the same 5 to 6 in. bit sizes, and both sit within our down-the-hole hammer selection. Add QL50-shank DTH drill bits and a supply of rock drill oil for the air line to round out the string.
