Shanked flushing rods combine a hex drill shank with an R25 male thread end, in 7/8 x 4-1/4 in. and 1 x 4-1/4 in. shank sizes. The rod chucks into a handheld drill like standard hex shanked steel, while the flushing passage carries air or water through the rod to clear cuttings from the hole.
The R25 male end accepts R25 threaded rock drill bits and couplings, turning a sinker or jackleg drill into the start of a short threaded string. For rod-to-rod work beyond the starter length, our extension rod range carries the string deeper in the same thread systems.
