The BTE Mid-Western S83 Sinker Drill is a 60 lb class handheld pneumatic rock drill for downward-hole work: anchor bolts, foundation pins and small-diameter blast holes from 5/8 to 3 in. and up, depending on steel and bit. Its 3 in. bore, 2-1/2 in. stroke motor built in the USA to the original Gardner Denver S83 design delivers 2,300 BPM, heading the sinker drills we stock.
Pick a 7/8 x 4-1/4 or 1 x 4-1/4 in. chuck and dry or wet operation wet runs water flush through the steel for dust suppression and cleaner production holes. The drill wants 250 CFM at 90 PSI, so plan a 375 CFM tow-behind compressor per tool. The same platform drives the S83 Jackleg Drill for face work and the stand-mounted S83 Demon; parts for all three ship from the BTE Mid-Western range we stock.
