The Epiroc DP 4220 is a hydraulic demolition pulverizer for 83,800–125,700 lb (38–57 t) excavators, with a straight jaw design for primary demolition and secondary reduction of reinforced and non-reinforced concrete. Offered as Standard or with the Performance Booster (PB).

Service weight 9,305 lb (4,220 kg) with a medium-sized adapter. Cutting force at the upper blades 551 US tons (500 t), 679 US tons (616 t) with the Performance Booster; crushing force at the jaw tip 138 / 170 US tons. Jaw opening 43.8 in. (1,113 mm), jaw depth 42.4 in., blade length 9.4 in. Oil flow 79.3–105.7 gpm (300–400 l/min) at up to 5,075 psi (350 bar); rotation circuit 9.2–13.2 gpm at up to 2,465 psi.

The straight jaw design handles primary demolition and secondary reduction of reinforced and non-reinforced concrete. 360° endless hydraulic rotation positions the jaws precisely, the standard version has a speed valve, and the robust design needs no cylinder rod protection. Cutting blades are replaceable and reversible, and the wear plate fixing system allows wear plate changes on site. The optional Performance Booster (PB configuration) raises cutting force and shortens the opening cycle, and it can be retrofitted to existing pulverizers.

Use it for primary demolition of walls, slabs, beams and columns, and for secondary reduction of demolition concrete on the ground, where the jaws crush the concrete and the blades cut the reinforcing steel.
