An air manifold is a small ASME-coded air receiver with multiple outlets. It takes one supply hose from the compressor and splits it into several tool connections, and the tank volume keeps pressure from collapsing every time a breaker or blow gun opens. Texas Pneumatic TX3AMF 2.5 Gal. Air Manifold
The portable one. Small enough to carry with one hand onto a roof or into a vault, big enough to steady two or three small tools. Choose plain 1/2 in NPT outlets or 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 in quick connects. The optional TX-10099 safety cage fits this model.

What is an air manifold?
An air manifold is a small ASME-coded pressure vessel with one inlet and several outlets. It does two things at once: it splits a single compressor supply into multiple tool connections, and its stored volume absorbs the pressure drop when a tool opens. Without one, four operators sharing a compressor pull each other’s pressure down every time someone squeezes a trigger. Texas Pneumatic manifolds also give the water in the line somewhere to fall out before it reaches the tools.
How many tools can I run off one air manifold?
The manifold does not set the limit — the compressor does. Add up the CFM draw of every tool you plan to run at the same time and compare it to the compressor’s output at 90 psi. Then pick a manifold with enough outlets and enough volume: 2.5 gallons steadies two or three small tools, 15 gallons suits a typical four-tool crew, and the 30 and 60 gallon models carry eight mixed outlets for larger spreads. Are Texas Pneumatic manifolds ASME certified?
Yes. Every TX-AMF manifold is ASME certified and built to meet OSHA and ASME code guidelines. That matters on jobs where the safety officer inspects pressure vessels, and it is the reason a coded manifold costs more than a piece of pipe with ball valves welded to it.
What is the California permit exempt manifold?
California permits air receivers above a certain size. The 10-gallon TX6AMF is built to sit under that threshold, so a fleet operating in California can run a proper coded manifold without adding a permitted vessel to the inventory. It carries the same 3/4 in NPT outlets as the 15-gallon model.
What is the TX-10099 safety cage for?
It is an optional guard that fits the TX3AMF (2.5 gal) and TX6AMF (10 gal) manifolds. Some sites require a cage around a portable pressure vessel that gets dragged, dropped and struck. Call for pricing and availability — we quote it with the manifold.
Air manifold or air receiver tank — which do I need?
A manifold is about distribution: several outlets, portable, sized in single-digit to tens of gallons. A receiver tank is about storage: 80 to 400 gallons, usually fixed, sized to stop a compressor short-cycling and to buffer big intermittent demands. Plenty of shops run both — the receiver behind the compressor, the manifold out at the work.
Do I still need a moisture separator?
If you are blasting, painting, running instrument air, or working in freezing weather, yes. The manifold drops out some bulk water but it is not a dryer. The TX-MSS systems take four passes at the moisture and add deliquescent desiccant for final drying — see moisture separation systems.
