Swivels, Hoses, Valves

Everything between the compressor drop and the tool inlet lives here: hose, reels, swivels, valves, and the inline fuse that shuts a line down when it lets go. Hose reels take 8, 10, and 13 mm hose with NPT or BSP ports across the HR8100 through HR9200 numbering, including the rubber-hose HR9213. Hose runs from 12.5 x 19 mm rubber in 20 m lengths through lightweight Effi Max and oil-resistant PUR, PVC and antistatic ESD, and spiral PUR leads in 2 to 8 m. A 1/4 in. swivel air inlet keeps a stiff hose from fighting the operator. CP rates this line at 140 to 290 psi maximum working pressure. Ships from Denver.

Hose Reels by Hose Size and Port

Reels are ordered on two numbers: hose bore and inlet port thread.

ReelHosePort
HR81088 mmNPT
HR811010 mmBSP
HR811313 mmNPT
HR821010 mmNPT
HR911313 mmBSP

The same reel numbers repeat in NPT and BSP, so read the port suffix before ordering.

Hose, Whips, and Spiral Leads

Rubber hose is antistatic and resists grinding and welding spatter, which is why it goes to construction, mining, shipyard, and foundry work. PUR hose is lighter and oil resistant for bench work. Spiral leads in 6.5 x 10, 8 x 12, and 11 x 16 mm recoil out of the walkway, and a whip hose at the tool absorbs the flexing that kills a main line.

Valves, Air Fuses, and Swivels

A female-female ball valve at the drop isolates one tool without shutting the header down. An inline air fuse closes automatically when flow spikes from a broken hose or pipe, so a failed line does not whip. Swivel fittings such as CP Air Flex make a rigid hose multi-directional in cramped work, though CP does not recommend the Air Flex 100 for percussive tools.

Common Questions

NPT or BSP? CP lists most reels and spiral leads both ways. NPT is the US standard and matches almost every North American compressor and tool port; BSP shows up on imported equipment. Match the thread already on the tool, and check the air couplings and nipples at the other end too.

What pressure are these rated for? CP rates this line from 140 to 290 psi maximum working pressure, well above the 90 psi most air tools run at. Confirm the figure on the product page before taking a hose above shop pressure.

What sizes of hose reel are there? Reels take 8, 10, and 13 mm hose, including a rubber-hose version, in both port threads. Size the bore to the tool’s air demand — an undersized hose starves a grinder no matter what the air compressor puts out.
