The Epiroc CB 4500 is a hydraulic concrete buster for excavators in the 88,200–121,300 lb (40–55 t) class, built for primary demolition of wide reinforced concrete structures. Service weight is 10,250 lb (4,650 kg) with an average-sized adapter plate; product weight 9,470 lb (4,295 kg).

Cutting force at the upper blades is 441 US tons (400 t) and crushing force at the jaw tip 143 US tons (130 t). Jaw opening 55.1 in. (1,400 mm), jaw depth 31.9 in. (810 mm), blade length 11 in. (280 mm). Cycle time 3.6 s opening / 2.6 s closing at maximum oil flow. Oil flow 79.3–105.7 gpm (300–400 l/min) at up to 5,075 psi (350 bar); rotation circuit 13.2 gpm (50 l/min) at up to 1,670 psi (115 bar).

Two hydraulic cylinders deliver virtually constant closing force, and two independently moving jaws eliminate displacement force, lowering stress on the carrier. An integrated speed valve shortens working cycles, piston rod guards protect the cylinders, and the cutting blades are replaceable and reversible. 360° endless hydraulic rotation positions the jaws precisely.

Use it for primary demolition of reinforced concrete structures: walls, slabs, beams and columns in buildings, bridges and industrial plants. The jaws crush the concrete while the blades at the top of the jaws cut through the reinforcing steel, so the carrier can take down wide sections without a separate shear.
