The Epiroc DP 1820 is a hydraulic demolition pulverizer for 33,100–48,500 lb (15–22 t) excavators, with a straight jaw design for primary demolition and secondary reduction of reinforced and non-reinforced concrete. Offered as Standard or with the Performance Booster (PB).
Service weight 4,010 lb (1,820 kg) with a medium-sized adapter. Cutting force at the upper blades 250 US tons (227 t), 302 US tons (274 t) with the Performance Booster; crushing force at the jaw tip 78.3 / 94.8 US tons. Jaw opening 29.4 in. (746 mm), jaw depth 28.3 in., blade length 7.5 in. Oil flow 37–52.8 gpm (140–200 l/min) at up to 5,075 psi (350 bar); rotation circuit 9.2–13.2 gpm at up to 2,465 psi.
The straight jaw design handles primary demolition and secondary reduction of reinforced and non-reinforced concrete. 360° endless hydraulic rotation positions the jaws precisely, the standard version has a speed valve, and the robust design needs no cylinder rod protection. Cutting blades are replaceable and reversible, and the wear plate fixing system allows wear plate changes on site. The optional Performance Booster (PB configuration) raises cutting force and shortens the opening cycle, and it can be retrofitted to existing pulverizers.
Use it for primary demolition of walls, slabs, beams and columns, and for secondary reduction of demolition concrete on the ground, where the jaws crush the concrete and the blades cut the reinforcing steel.
