
Texas Pneumatic Dust Collection Systems
A dust collection system captures concrete, brick and stone dust at the tool instead of letting it hang in the breathing zone, which is how crews work to OSHA Directive 1926.1153 on crystalline silica. The Texas Pneumatic TX-DCS2 is a single-user cart with a 20 gallon canister that draws roughly 40 CFM at 90 psi to make its vacuum; the TX-DCS3 and the multi-user TX-DCS-MU3 scale up from there, and the Atlas Copco DCP 10 pairs with TEX range breakers. All of them run dry: a cyclonic pre-separator takes out more than 90% of the dust and debris, then a HEPA element catches what is left. Single User or Multi User
The TX-DCS2 is designed around one tool at a time and comes with a HEPA filter, a cyclonic filter, a 25 ft vacuum hose, a 5 ft whip, and a TX-2AM mini air mover that is the vacuum source. The multi-user TX-DCS-MU3 serves more than one operator off the same unit. Either way the cart can sit up to 30 ft from the work, which keeps the collector and the bagged debris out of the exposure area.
Filtration and Disposal
The cyclonic stage strips the bulk before anything reaches the filter, then the HEPA element removes particles down to 0.3 micron at 99.97% efficiency — the respirable fraction that does the lung damage and that you cannot see. Collection is dry, so debris goes in the trash with no wet slurry to contain or pay to haul. The HEPA element washes out and has a two to three year life expectancy, and with no moving parts on the vacuum side there is almost nothing to service. The TX-DCS line is made in the USA.
Air Supply and Tool Fit
The vacuum is generated by compressed air, so budget the collector on top of the tool: the TX-DCS2 alone wants about 40 CFM at 90 psi, the same pressure most air tools need to work properly. Common Questions
Do these silica dust collectors meet the OSHA rule? The TX-DCS systems are built to conform to OSHA standard 1926.1153 for crystalline silica containment, capturing dust at the source and filtering it through HEPA. Compliance still depends on how you set the system up and use it on your task.
Will an industrial dust collection system work with electric tools? Yes. The systems run off compressed air but collect from any tool — pneumatic or electric percussion tools, drills, saws and grinders — as long as the vacuum hose adapts to the tool’s dust port.
How fine do they filter? To 0.3 micron at 99.97% efficiency after the cyclonic pre-separator removes more than 90% of the load. That covers the 0.3 to 10 micron respirable particles that carry the silica hazard.
