Abrasives are the part of an air tool that actually cuts, and the part you reorder. File belts come in ten-packs from 305 x 3 mm up to 610 x 13 mm, in widths of 3, 6, 10, 13, 20, and 25 mm and grits from 40 through 180 — coarse for weld spatter, medium to smooth, fine to finish. Quick-change sanding discs run 2 in. and 3 in., including CPA1019 in #120 and the 150-piece CPA1004 pack. Backing pads span 2 in. to 9 in. in 1/4-20, M14, 5/8-11, and 5/16-24 threads, hook-and-loop or PSA. Carbide burr kits and 3 mm shank mounted points finish the die grinder side. Run them on CP sanders & polishers and grinders.

Sanding Belts by Size and Grit
File belts are ordered by length, width, and grit, all three of which are in the model name. Every belt above is a ten-pack.

Belt length has to match the arm on your belt sander; width and grit are yours to choose.
Discs, Pads, and Threads
Sanding discs come in 2 in. and 3 in., in TS and TR attachments and packs of 25, 50, and 150. The pad under the disc matters as much: backing pads run 2 to 9 in. in 1/4-20, M14, 5/8-11, and 5/16-24 threads, soft or semi-hard, hook-and-loop or PSA, with vented five-hole versions for dust pickup. Match the pad thread to the spindle on your CP sander or polisher.
Burrs and Mounted Points
Carbide burrs deburr, chamfer, and dress welds where a disc will not reach. Five-piece kits come on a 1/4 in. shank in an aluminum cut that clears chips instead of loading, and a power cut for steel. Mounted points on a 3 mm shank grind in the same die grinders that take the collets and guards.
Common Questions
Which grit should I start with? Work from the damage down: 40 and 60 take off weld spatter and heavy stock, 80 and 100 level and blend, 120 through 180 finish. Skipping more than one step leaves scratches the next grit cannot clear.
What do TS and TR mean on the discs? They are CP’s quick-change attachment codes, and the shrouds carry the same letters. Order the letter that matches the holder already on your tool.
Hook-and-loop or PSA? Hook-and-loop lets you pull a part-worn disc off and reuse it, which suits mixed grit work. PSA sticks down flat for long production runs but comes off once. Both are in the pad range above.
