The American Pneumatic Tools APT 654 is a 4-cylinder pneumatic chipping hammer with a 4 in. piston stroke and a 4-bolt back-head, running 1,375 BPM through a .580 in. hex or .680 in. round chuck. The long stroke puts more energy into each blow for form stripping, refractory-lining repair and light concrete demolition, and the 16 lb drop-forged body is built for sustained industrial duty across the APT chipping hammer family.
Like the rest of the line, the 654 pairs APTs flapper-valve design dirt passes through the tool instead of stalling it with a deep case-hardened alloy steel cylinder. It draws 34-36 CFM at 90 PSI through a 7/8-24 female inlet, and because that whip connection lives with constant vibration, clip a whip check across every hose joint. For demolition beyond a chippers reach, rivet busters carry similar handling into heavier breaking; the full spread of pneumatic chipping hammers is stocked in Denver.
