The Texas Pneumatic TXCH4 is a US-built 4-cylinder chipping hammer: 4 in. stroke, 1,375 BPM and a 1-1/8 in. bore that favors blow energy over speed for scaling, chiseling, cement finishing and light demolition. It comes as a heavy-duty 4-bolt tool at 20 lb or as a standard 2-bolt version with the same mechanism in a lighter handle frame, both part of the Texas Pneumatic chipping hammer line.

The 4-bolt configuration arrives job-ready Texas Pneumatic includes a 1291-TPT2 deluxe quick-change retainer, an in-line lubricator with hose whip, a 12 in. moil point and a 12 in. flat chisel. Plan on 35 CFM and at least a 1/2 in. hose. What is the difference between the 4-bolt and 2-bolt TXCH4?
Same 4 in. stroke, 1,375 BPM mechanism. The 4-bolt is the 20 lb heavy-duty frame and ships with a quick-change retainer, in-line lubricator with hose whip, 12 in. moil point and 12 in. flat chisel; the standard 2-bolt puts the same mechanism in a lighter, lower-cost handle frame.

How much air does the TXCH4 use?
35 CFM at 90 psi through at least a 1/2 in. hose. Size the compressor around that 35 CFM draw and keep an in-line oiler ahead of the tool.

What chisels and steels fit it?
The bushing chosen at purchase .580 in. hex or .680 in. round sets the steel size, and matching moil points, flat chisels and scaling steels are stocked in our chipping hammer chisels range.
