The American Pneumatic Tools APT 653 is a 3-cylinder pneumatic chipping hammer with a 3 in. piston stroke and a choice of .580 in. hex or .680 in. round chuck, built for scaling, chiseling, weld cleanup, form stripping and light concrete demolition. At 14 lb with a 1,650 BPM impact rate, it is the pistol-grip APT chipping hammer that ironworkers, masons and refractory crews run for medium-duty work where heavier breakers cause fatigue.
A drop-forged pistol-grip handle and deep case-hardened alloy steel cylinder back up APTs flapper-valve design, which lets dirt pass through the tool instead of stalling it. The 1-1/8 in. bore draws 33-35 CFM at 90 PSI through a 7/8-24 female inlet that accepts standard whip hoses keep an in-line lubricator plumbed in to protect the piston. Crowder Supply stocks matching chipping hammer chisels in both shank sizes, alongside the full range of pneumatic chipping hammers.
