Needle Head or Chisel Head?
Same air motor, different front end. A needle scaler drives a bundle of 19 loose needles that follow the contour of the work, so it cleans corners, rivets, and pitted steel without gouging — the reason shipyard, tank, and bridge crews reach for one first. A chisel scaler concentrates the whole blow on a single blade for glue, resin, tile, non-skid, and heavy coating. Single Piston, Triple Piston, and Scabblers
Piston count sets removal rate and how the tool feels in the hand. The S1 is the lighter, simpler single-piston tool for small and medium cleaning; the T3 fires three pistons in sequence for higher impact energy, smoother running, and a faster strip on hull, tank, and refinery work. Scabblers apply the same idea to concrete — the CP 0006 runs tungsten-carbide-tipped pistons, the CP 0066 uses tungsten-cobalt tips for non-sparking areas, and the Tamco SF-T3 is solid cobalt alloy with no brazed tips to separate.

Needles, Chisels, and Vacuum Attachments
Needles are the wear item. They mushroom and shorten with use, and a short needle stops reaching into pits and weld undercut. Reorder Texas Pneumatic scaler needles or a set of nineteen 7 in. needles, fit a long-reach scraper blade for coating work, and add the TX182 vacuum attachment where dust has to be captured.
