The Rhino PD-200 is the heaviest handheld pneumatic driver Rhino builds — a 170 lb class post and pile driver whose 4 in. alloy steel piston delivers approximately 900 BPM at 100 PSI, out-hitting a 90 lb jackhammer for blow energy on dock pile, sheet pile, and large wood post work. It's the tool for jobs that outgrow every smaller driver but don't justify a truck-mounted rig.

Five master chucks, selectable right on this page, make one PD-200 a whole pile-driving fleet: 4×6 (the PD-200G guard rail configuration) for 4×6 H-column guardrail posts, 6×6 for wood piling, 5-1/2 in. and 7 in. round for 4-3/4 to 6 in. pipe and dock pile, and slotted (the PD-200S) for sheet pile and seawall systems. A chuck swap moves the same driver from a highway guardrail repair to a boat dock job to a seawall — no second tool required.

Required Air-Line Setup

A tool this size only earns its keep on properly conditioned air. Before the first post goes in, the line needs a throttle valve for control at the operator's position, a filter-regulator-lubricator (FRL) to knock out moisture and regulate pressure, and rock drill oil flowing through the lubricator whenever the tool is hitting. Can the PD-200 drive guardrail posts?
Yes — select the 4×6 master chuck (the PD-200G configuration) and it drives 4×6 H-column guardrail posts directly, no truck-mounted rig required. That makes it the repair-and-short-run tool for highway and DOT crews; for truck- and machine-mounted guardrail driving, see our mounted post drivers.

What about piles, pipe, and sheet pile?
That's the rest of the five-chuck system. The 5-1/2 and 7 in. round chucks cover 4-3/4 to 6 in. pipe and dock pile (the PD-200 pile driving kit bundles that setup), the 6×6 chuck drives wood piling, and the slotted PD-200S chuck runs sheet pile and seawall systems.

What air supply does it take?
72 CFM at 100 PSI, so plan on a 100+ CFM tow-behind or trailer-mounted compressor — the FRL spec sheet in the documents below covers the rest of the air-line setup.

Is there a lighter option?
