Hydraulic hoses for hydraulic breakers are high-pressure flexible conduits that carry hydraulic fluid (usually oil) between the carrier machine (excavator, skid steer, backhoe) and the hydraulic breaker attachment. These hoses transfer hydraulic power that drives the piston mechanism inside the breaker to deliver impact energy to concrete, rock, or other hard surfaces. These hoses are built to withstand high pressure, extreme vibration, pulsation, and abrasion typical in breaker operations.
- Design: A standard high-pressure hydraulic hose consists of an inner Tube that carries hydraulic oil, reinforcement Layers which are Multiple layers of braided or spiral steel wire, and an outer Cover that protects from abrasion, heat, chemicals, and weather. Fittings/Connectors are typically crimped steel fittings (JIC, NPT, ORFS, BSP, or flange types). Some hoses use quick-connect couplers for rapid attachment/detachment. Spring guards or textile sleeves can be added to prevent kinking and shield against abrasion or heat.
- Applications: Hydraulic hoses are used in all hydraulic breaker setups, including:
- Excavators and Mini-Excavators: For powering hydraulic hammers in demolition or trenching
- Skid Steers and Backhoes: Compact machines using breakers for concrete or asphalt removal
- Quarry and Mining Equipment: Used on larger rock breakers requiring high flow and pressure
- Rental Equipment: Quick-connect hose setups improve flexibility between machines
- Materials: Inner tube is synthetic rubber or themoplastic for oil-resistance and flexibility. Reinforcement is high-tensile steel wire (braided or spiral-wound) that withstands pressures up to 6,000psi. Outer cover is abrasion-resistant synthetic rubber or polyurethane that is weather, oil and abrasion resistant. Fittings are carbon steel or stainless steel which are durable under high pressure and vibration. Protective sleeve is nylon, kevlar or steel spiral wrap for added durability and safety.
